Hidden Gems: Meet Gabriel Murgo of G’NICE MGMT

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriel Murgo.

Gabriel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
G’NICETV started in 2017 when I was just a senior in high school. I first started the channel with the intention of it being a regular youtube channel with vlogging-type posts. A group of friends in a collective group called SKM inspired me to start G’NICETV. The members, DJ and Dsteeze are two older friends of mine introduced to me by my current artist GetItRogers. One day at a BBQ, I told them how they inspired me to start a channel. Based on how creative and dope they were with creating content, being themselves, and cultivating a wave. A brand that to this day is still thriving. When I first started my channel having college in mind, I wanted to do something in media with my major being in journalism (Mass Communication).  I remember one training session I mentioned to my football trainer, Gary Walker (Former Baltimore Ravens Safety) that I wanted to start creating content. He encouraged me to start by filming interviews with some current and former Pro Athletes. Gary being one himself, I asked to shoot my first interview with him. From there I grew a passion for it and continued my journey interviewing NFL athletes, still filming my regular YouTube content.

In my sophomore year of college, I took a film class with a lot of talented young directors, producers, and more. That course inspired me to take YouTube seriously and move on up to the next level. It was perfect timing because around that time Is when a lot of the music scene in my city started growing. So, I started capturing a lot of the underground scene of music in San Bernardino, CA., where I’m from. There were a lot of notable artists from the Inland Empire (IE) who made it big and I wanted to film them. After taking that film class sophomore year I took an advanced film course my junior year; then going into my senior year in college, I focused the channel on reporting on music, sports, fashion, comedy & food. A multi-media company that reports on some of the dopest authentic stories in culture. A positive platform, I don’t cover anything negative, nor like to stir false information, which is why I pride my platform on staying true and positive to uplift and influence to push the culture forward.

With my love for media and the skills I’ve developed as a journalist, I wanted to be different from the traditional media outlets and journalists. Middle of my senior year in college G’NICETV officially became an LLC. Now I’m a year out of college and created two digital web series through G’NICETV such as The “Wuss Da Deal” Series, “The Come Up” Series, and my “Ya Heard Me” Podcast. G’NICETV also has Vlogs and more. All with emerging artists across the US, your favorite influencers, celebrities, and athletes, only on G’NICETV. I also have my own merch line that will be coming to the NFT space very soon.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There has been a lot of hardship throughout my journey and still is. I continue to push this brand because I believe in it. It gives me more hope when people reach out and show love and support. It gives me the motivation to keep going. Being a college student on a football scholarship while working. Being a student, and building a brand wasn’t easy. But I sacrificed partying &  going out, making sure that when I had free time I was using the studio on campus to learn how to edit. From there went and edited videos, researching to build what would become G’NICETV. During that period of time in my life, I was supporting myself through college and funding my own brand. Now working full time at a job with the flexibility I’m able to balance my personal life and work on my brand. It still gets hard at times, being a recent college grad and building an income, while funding a lot of my brand from my own pocket. But I remind myself that it’s a good investment and that it’ll all pay off.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Along with G’NICE TV, I’ve recently incorporated G’NICE MGMT into the G’NICE brand. I currently manage two recording artists. Getitrogers, from San Bernardino, CA & F$O MK, from Oakland Park, FL. G’NICE is about valuing artists, giving them a platform, and leading them to success with education and artist development. I look for the artist with passion and dedication instead of just checking follower count.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I think most would define success based on financial gains.  Success for me is being able to bring people to the top with you.
