Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Corbid.
Hi Holly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I spent 15 years in the corporate world prior to getting into the photo business in 2010. Between 2010-2014, when I branded Capture Your Photos, I saw an opportunity for what I call, the ‘do it for you’ side of the business, The digital photo organizing world was going crazy, people were now walking around with cameras in their pockets at all times, taking more pictures than ever, and they were looking for help finding solutions to both their digital photo challenges and to help them bridge the gap with their printed photo collections.
Since 2014, the digital photo world has changed significantly, so I built my business by responding to the market. Cloud services were coming and going, there were more choices than ever for managing digital photos, and the world was going more and more digital. In addition to all of that, people were busier than ever and they didn’t necessarily want to take the time to figure out how to do this for themselves. Capture Your Photos filled that need by helping them to consolidate and organize their digital collections, as well as help them set up systems to maintain them.
While the digital world was exploding, the population was aging. Many people were either inheriting or accumulating tons of old photos and memorabilia. We recognized that in order for future generations to embrace and pass on our client’s stories, we needed to help them sort through the clutter, and preserve the memories that matter most. The future is digital, so helping them to digitize those favorite memories and finding a way to store them safely is key to future preservation and family storytelling.
In 2021, I launched my first online course called the Photo Organizing Blueprint, to once again respond to the market. I built that first course for those clients that wanted to organize their photos themselves, but just needed some help with a process and tools.
While I continue to work 1-1 with clients organizing their photos for them, I have also launched a series of additional online Blueprint courses.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I can’t imagine any entrepreneur has had a smooth road. The challenge with this business is that the profession didn’t exist in the way it does now when I started. I spent a lot of time explaining what I do and finding the right clients. My full service clients are people that don’t have the time, the technical know-how, or the desire to organize their photos themselves, but they want a beautiful collection of memories that they can share with their families. Figuring out who my client was and how to find them was a challenge when I had to first introduce people to photo organizing as a profession.
I’ve been a member of a professional organization called ‘The Photo Managers’ for over 12 years, and am now one of the most senior members. This organization was where I found my people. We collaborated and learned from each other to build businesses throughout the country and the world. Having a network of individuals made all the difference as we developed business processes and procedures for how to do this work well, and for how to run this type of business. It’s been a lot of trial and error.

Capture Your Photos delivers photo organizing services that help our clients celebrate life, tell stories, and touch hearts with their photo and video collections by helping them to organize, preserve, and share their lifetime of memories.
We believe that photos and memories build relationships and in the importance of sharing stories through generations. We recognize that managing photos in 2026 can feel overwhelming. Phones are exploding with photos, and generations of printed photos are getting crispy and faded. Our job is to take away that overwhelm and give you the peace of mind of knowing that we can help you create a collection that allows you to find, access, and share your memories easily, as well as keep them safe from technology fails and mother nature.
We specialize in digital photo organizing, as well as working with people who have a lifetime of memories they want to preserve and share. In addition to organizing services, we offer scanning services and help people tell stories through slideshows, premium album design and printing, creating online family galleries for photo sharing, and other keepsakes.

I’ve experienced rescuing photos from all types of systems and services and know exactly what it takes to consolidate and organize a digital collection, as well as set up systems that are easy to manage and maintain.
I’m proud that I’ve had the opportunity to share my knowledge and learnings by presenting at multiple Photo Manager conferences and webinars throughout my 16 years, as well as host virtual conferences and events.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Learn from others! I wish the training that is available now would have existed when I was starting out. I would encourage someone going into this field to invest in themselves to learn how to do this work, and not try to just figure it out by themselves. I would recommend they join The Photo Managers professional organization for both the education and the networking. I can’t express how much that network has helped me grow my business.
