Today we’d like to introduce you to Krizia Castro.
Hi Krizia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Jonathan Feliciano and I Krizia Castro moved to Minnesota in 2016 with plans to work and finish our house in Puerto Rico. We have 2 boys, Cristobal, who is 19, and Jonathan Joriel, who is 7. In September of 2017, Hurricane Maria happened in Puerto Rico and we lost our house with everything in it. By May 2018, Jonathan mentioned to me that he had a feeling that we should open a painting business. It was unusual because he did not like to paint, and he had done construction since he was young with my father-in-law, but with only $200 in our savings, I told him to let’s do it. We don’t have anything to lose if it’s God’s will. He will make it happen and take us on a journey together.
On May 30th, we opened Prosperity Painting & More, LLC. As we started moving around town seeking information on what we needed to do to find work and direction to establish our business, we decided to open an account with Sherwin-Williams Paint Store. On our way, I prayed and asked God if this business was His will for us to open doors for us at Sherwin-Williams, and if this business did not come from Him to close every door, I didn’t want anything that wasn’t from Him to His will. About 2 weeks later, I was at Walmart doing some shopping, and I got a call from our sales rep. He introduced himself and wanted to set up a meeting to meet us and talk further about Sherwin-Williams, and I was kind of confused, so I asked who he was again, and he said I am your sales rep. You have been approved with a credit line, and we want to meet you. At that point, I just started crying with so much joy. God had answered my prayer. Prosperity Painting came with a purpose, and God is the leader and guide of this business. It’s been 4 years since we have been in business, and we are still learning as we go on this path. God has been so good and faithful and has never left us, even in the hardest moments when we haven’t had work or anything to fall back on. We keep growing as business leaders. We have wonderful clients and keep meeting great ones, and we are growing more and more each year. God is our rock and leader, and we seek wisdom in Him to keep going even when it’s not easy, but He gives us the strength to keep pushing forward. Our mission is to bless in the way we have been blessed and grow so much to keep creating more stories of blessing.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been an easy journey. It’s been a learning experience, a lot of late nights at different projects working 7 days a week to finish each job professionally, finding good guys to work with and having them give the same quality work as you. Even though now it’s a lot easier with a project here and there, we still have to work late, but now there is more of a balance, so we don’t lose quality time with our family.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
My risk is if you don’t try it, you will never know if it worked, so in life, you need to be a risk taker, not have fear. If Jonathan and I had rejected the idea of being business owners and chose not to open Prosperity Painting, we would have missed out on a lot, so we are thankful we took the risk, and it’s been an incredible journey.
