Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Munsen.
Hi Matthew, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started mowing lawns when I was 12 years old for a neighbor every summer then when I got to high school I started working for the city doing landscaping, later into high school I started mowing lawns again for my friends dad’s company in the summers, after high school I worked for a lawn care company as a pesticide applicator for a couple summers. I then spent 2 years traveling with my friends, when I came back I went all in on starting my own company which I did in 2025.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
All things considered I would say it has been a pretty smooth road, it definitely isn’t easy but I have had a lot of support from family and friends. I’m a Christian and without God none of this would be possible, through the highs and the lows He has always helped me along. There are things that come up every day and challenges to face but by the grace of God it always works out.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Oak Ridge Lawn Co. ?
I started Oak Ridge Lawn Co. in 2025 we provide lawn maintenance services, mowing, fertilization, clean ups, and landscape maintenance. What sets us apart is that we are a small company and we can give personal attention to all of our customers. I’m the owner but I still do all the fertilizer applications personally for example. It’s great to be able to know all of our customers by name.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me the most happy is my family and friends, I’m grateful every day for my great parents and my sisters. My girlfriend Sidney makes me happy too, we have been together for quite some time now and shes very supportive and always makes me happy. Id say in general what makes me happy is being around good people, and the people I mentioned are the best I know.
