Today we’d like to introduce you to Miles Marmo Marcus Dormanen
Hi Miles Marmo, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started during COVID. Marcus was on the hunt for a putter cover that allowed him to be a little more expressive than the typical golf bag would look. When he started to search he realized his options were either incredibly expensive, or really poorly made cheap products. There was nothing in the middle. It was a sea of uninspiring product. As the sport was changing around him, he saw an opportunity to bring something different. He came to Miles with an idea to create accessories that were more fun, more vibrant, and didn’t cost an arm and a leg. They looked at the other brands and products, saw an opportunity to do it differently, and started designing and creating products they would like to see out on the course. From there, Noonan Golf Co was born.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
If starting a business was smooth and easy, everybody would do it! From our first set of prototypes to shipping a miniature version of the CaddyShack to the PGA Show in Orlando, we experienced many bumps along the road. These unexpected challenges taught us valuable lessons on how to overcome obstacles. Our ability to stay nimble and contingency plan has allowed us to be true problem solvers when any challenges arise.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Aside from bringing fun and interesting designs to golf, our aim is to price everything less than the average round. We want all Noonan customers to be spending their money and time on the course instead of on overpriced golf gear. We provide high-quality gear at an approachable price.
How do you define success?
Success for us is when our customers hit the course feeling confident, connected, and having a blast with friends (or strangers). Bonus points for inspiring someone to pick up a club for the first time and fall in love with the game. If we can create this type of movement and connection, that’s a win in our book. Today, there are a lot of great brands who are reshaping the way golf is looked and and approached. To be in the mix and for people to find themselves in our brand is an incredible feeling for us.
