Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Miller.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We started our business when my kids were 7 months and 20 months because there was no baby/kid stores in the area and I had such a passion for all things kid. We quickly grew out of our 700 sq ft space into the space we have been in for the last 12 years. The first year and half I was the only employee and worked another job at the same time just to pay the bills. But I LOVED what I was doing so we kept going. Now my kids are old enough to work in the store with me and my 13 year old daughter goes on buying trips with me. We have grown so much over the years, investing in the amazing community we have here. A few things that set us apart from other kids stores is, we gift wrap for free all year around and we do custom curated gifts for birthdays, baby showers, easter & Christmas stockings etc.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
oh definitely not! I thought it would be fun to bring 2 babies to work with me everyday and I quickly learned that was not doable for me at all! We have been through 3 websites that we have built out ourselves with no previous knowledge of websites. Every build out we do in the store we have done ourselves. We are very lucky to have my father in law who is incredibly handy help us and my dad who is recently retired help with painting, We struggle just like every small business does, flu season is hard on us but we all try our best to cover shifts for other employees, but sometimes I end up working 10 days straight just to keep from closing, but I have to remind myself thats what I signed up for. Working more hours to have the freedom to be my own boss.

We gift wrap for free always and we are great at curating gifts and helping customers who are unsure what to buy for a gift helping them pick the perfect option! We are open 7 days a week and we ship same day or next and we can even gift wrap your items that ship.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
not luck, persistence. I refuse to give up. When life has been hard at the store we buckle down and try and attack challenges from another angle.
