Hi Nouci, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Starting Nou Beauty wasn’t something I always saw in my future. In fact, I spent two years pursuing a nursing degree, not because it was my dream, but because I wanted to make my mom proud. She always hoped one of her daughters would become a nurse, and I thought I could be the one to fulfill that for her. But the truth is, I felt empty. I was showing up to classes, doing the work, but my heart just wasn’t in it.
In 2018, I finally had to face the hard truth: I couldn’t keep living a life that didn’t feel like my own. So, I took a leap of faith and decided to switch my career path entirely. I was terrified—terrified of failing, of letting my mom down, and of stepping into the unknown. But deep down, I knew that becoming an esthetician was where my passion lay. Beauty had always been my outlet, my place of peace, and I wanted to share that feeling with others.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Over the past six years, I’ve worked in all kinds of environments—from small businesses to big franchises. Each experience taught me something valuable, not just about my craft but about running a business. I saw what worked, what didn’t, and I started to imagine what my own space could look and feel like.
Starting Nou Beauty was another leap of faith, and it wasn’t without its challenges. In 2023, my original beauty page was hacked, and I had to rebuild my brand from scratch. What felt like a setback at the time ended up being a blessing. It forced me to dig deep, push forward, and ultimately, I ended up with a brand that felt even more true to myself.
Today, I’m proud to offer specialized services in lashes, brows, and skincare. My mission isn’t just about enhancing beauty—it’s about creating a space where self-care and self-love come first. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing my clients walk out of my space not just looking good but truly feeling good.
Looking back, I’m grateful for every twist and turn. I never thought I’d be working for myself, but here I am, living a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. This journey hasn’t always been smooth, but it’s mine, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I wouldn’t consider myself a traditionally “lucky” person. However, I do feel fortunate for having the strength and will power to overcome many obstacles and challenges in my life. While I’d like to believe that luck is always on my side, my experiences have shown me that hard work is what truly creates opportunities. Those opportunities then open doors to new connections and valuable networking. In business, especially, I’ve learned that success often comes down to who you know rather than just what you know. I’ve built my path through persistence, resilience, and showing up even when things weren’t easy — and if that counts as luck, then I’ll take it.
