Hidden Gems: Meet Nyakouth Tong of SlaybySunday

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nyakouth Tong.

Nyakouth Tong

Hi Nyakouth, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Welcome to my blog! My name is Nyakouth Tong; however, I go by Sunday Slay World and social media. Why Sunday? I was born on a Sunday and aim to bless others with my makeup skills. Sunday loves to make other women and younger girls feel confident in their skin. Sunday also wants to utilize makeup to positively impact other women. It is currently my 3rd year in college.

Pursuing my bachelor’s degree in business marketing. After I graduate from college, I plan to open a salon and take it back home to Juba South Sudan. Why do I want to open a salon back home? Because I want to help and uplift my people in any way that I can within my community. One of my favorite quotes that I live by every day “Don’t let your bad days think that you have a bad life.” There are always brighter days ahead. From my freshman year in high school, I would get up every morning just to slay my face away, every day when I would go to school, I would get a lot of compliments from my friends and cousins about my makeup.

I never really realized how much I fell in love with makeup until August 16th, 2021. I started to practice with my sisters, close friends, and cousins. After they told me that I do makeup very well that inspired me to open a makeup business. on March 22nd, 2022, I launched my makeup business, because growing up I’ve seen women struggling with how to do makeup. So, I took the next step and became one. So here am I today to show you my work of art. Makeup has been my passion since then and now.

Sunday is here to support all your beauty needs in the Slay World. If you’re searching for a makeup artist for any special occasion, that engagement session, wedding, birthday, headshot, or date night, feel free to book me as your Makeup Artist.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have encountered numerous trials and tribulations, and many have doubted my abilities. However, here I am today still pushing. My advice to anyone out there is to keep going no matter what people have to say, including your family.

They’re not the ones with your vision, we’re only here for what we were destined to do then we’re out. Remember to appreciate the people who love you, make the most of every moment, and live your life. These days aren’t coming back.

As you know, we’re big fans of SlaybySunday. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Through my exceptional skills as a makeup artist, I strive to create unique and personalized looks for each model, celebrating their beauty and enhancing their natural features.

My dedication to my craft fuels me to consistently produce outstanding results and bring joy to those I work with.

What are your plans for the future?
My plan after I graduate from college is to open a salon in my hometown of Juba, South Sudan.
