Paula, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Clandestino’s Venezuelan Food is a family business that embraces the Marabina culture, from the Zuliana region of Venezuela. Also known as “The beloved land of the sun”.
Unique street-style dishes that will transport you to the beloved land of the sun with every bite, from traditional breakfasts like pastelitos, empanadas, tequenos, to dishes like tumbarranchos, patacones and more that you will love!
We offer authentic taste of Maracaibo/Venezuela in the Twin Cities.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a project that has taken a couple of years to build a community around. We are immigrants, so our main adversity was the language and the second was the smallness of the Venezuelan community in Minnesota (in the year we moved). However, that need to have a piece of Venezuela nearby prompted us to create Clandestino’s. The growing community has helped us a lot to grow, not only as a business, but in the quality of our products and in giving the best possible experience to all our customers regardless of nationality!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We offer Maracucho flavor. Our empanadas and arepas are made from corn ground by us. UNIQUE IN THE TWIN CITIES. We have a variety of pastelitos and also delicacies such as Cachapas and Patacones. Everything prepared by us! to always give the best quality to our customers.
