Hidden Gems: Meet Yengyee Lor of Faithful Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yengyee Lor.

Yengyee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Faithful Consulting was founded in June 2015 to create social change in the workplace by providing consulting, coaching, and training. We recognized a significant trend of stress, anxiety, and toxic work cultures that were impacting the well-being of employees. We wanted to create social change in this space. The business focused heavily on the coaching and consulting side, and then it moved to incorporate training a few years later. Today, we are well known for leadership coaching, training, and organizational consulting work such as strategic planning and needs assessment.

What sets us apart is our unique leadership training focuses on developing the leader within and the skills that allow them to lead authentically. We customize all our leadership training to our audiences and have our Critical Conversation with CLAS communication framework.

A bonus of working with us is that we come with innate EDI/DEI expertise. Lastly, through working with many entrepreneurs, coaches, and consultants, we have a program called Sage Assistants (also known as Virtual Assistants with advanced training and visionary thinking) that supports and helps to scale small businesses. The holistic service framework has been a blessing to our customers who wants to focus on doing what they love and less on the things that are not in their area of genius.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all. Besides the excitement of “starting a business or something that you care about,” the process of starting a business is like hitting rock bottom and going from there. My situation may be worst than most people’s because I started my business by jumping fully into it (no Plan B) and not having any other income sources.

The struggle was real in the first five years, barely making a livable wage or what I was making in my previous career.

I had both feet in my business but one arm searching for a job. Fortunately or unfortunately, I did not find a job and stuck with doing this business long enough that it hit six figures and I could add on several workers. If you count when I finally hit stability in my business, it has only been a couple of years.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Faithful Consulting LLC?
We are intentional about using the words “social change” in our work because we are serious about helping our customers make the intentional impact that shifts their culture, systems, and leadership. We customize all of our consulting, training, and coaching to ensure there is alignment with the business strategic plan and core values.

We are proud of our woman-own and minority-own business and innately we bring inclusivity and belonging to everything we do. We love people and it shows in our brand and services. People know that they will get high-quality, honest, and reliable services from us.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
My favorite childhood memory is my dad taking us to eat fried chicken when we got As. It motivated me back then because “eating out” was a luxury for our family. We did not have much, so it felt like a lot as a kid.
