Today we’d like to introduce you to Britt Mudge.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my journey in massage therapy right after high school. As other recently graduated high schoolers enjoyed their summer break, I was back to school in the massage therapy program. It began a lifelong passion that I never knew that I would love so much.
I graduated from Aveda Institute with top honors in 1998. Throughout the years, I continued my education in Reiki, Myofascial Release, Crainial Sacral Therapy and Cupping.
In 2013, I taught the massage therapy program at LA Beauty and Massage School. I found joy in being a massage instructor and continued till the summer of 2019.
Resinosa Massage was formed in 2018, from the idea that corrective and calming treatments needed to be performed in a nurturing, warm and inviting space. Resinosa Massage offers a wide selection of therapeutic and relaxation treatments.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The first year was extremely difficult. That year I laughed at myself because I considered it to be a very expensive hobby. But with the support of my husband and family, I continued forward. I worked twice as hard and my efforts began to show. Then in 2020, the pandemic hit and I lost everything. For over 3 months of uncertainty, I was able to find a new rental space in TrueCare Chiropractic. I blossomed and grew immensely. I hired my first employee in 2021. Resinosa Massage has outgrown the space and we are looking to expand the business within the next few months.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Resinosa Massage is a small unique oasis located in the heart of Eagan MN. The word “Resinosa” is from Minnesota’s state tree, the Norway pine (Pinus Resinosa). Honoring my Minnesotan heritage all of the treatments contain the lingo of Minnesota. Uff Da Deep Tissue, Up North Sports and Great Lakes Hot Stone to name a few.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
To keep my mind refresh my favorite apps are Muscle & Bone Anatomy and ABMP pocket pathology. I don’t have a favorite podcast but I do enjoy listening to MPR. My favorite shows are Science Friday and wait wait… Don’t tell me!.
