Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline Nyakundi.
Hi Caroline, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Kenya, I enjoyed giving foot massages to my mother for long periods, helping her feel better was my joy! I moved to the United States as a teenager and began pursuing my passion as a massage therapist by attending Universal Massage Institute in Dallas, Texas.
After graduating, I relocated to this cold State in 2012 and started to work for Newport Spa. Working at the spa was motivating, and educational, and I learned how to enhance my massage techniques! After two years of working with professionals, I opened my own business and loved it! Confident, calm, and caring Caroline can massage you with techniques, from strong, intense, and deep, to soft and relaxing.
With over a decade of experience, I have had a very enjoyable journey of learning about and understanding clients’ needs. Now, if you ask me what I would do besides being a massage therapist? My response would be, I don’t see myself doing anything else. Thank you for taking the time to book with me. I am looking forward to massaging you.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a professional therapist who mainly learns about how the body functions and how to make the body feel better, I am very challenged to do things out of my sphere.
The main challenge I have is with social media and marketing. It takes a lot of time and persistent and consistent effort to constantly grow a business. I find it very difficult to balance what I love doing with something I know little about.
We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as having three parts.
The first and most important part to me is the ability to understand the needs of my clients and help them reach their goals, Those goals can be relaxation, the release of muscle tension, someone to talk to, and the blessing of the human touch. Many people enjoy meeting one or all of those goals.
The second part of the definition of success would of course be financial. The third part of the definition of success would be to be fully booked 5 days a week for two months in advance. That would be the pinnacle of success.
