Hi Cassidy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth. I majored in psychology and minored in business marketing. I came out of college, like many other recent graduates, excited, nervous and overwhelmed. I knew I wanted my future career to merge my passions, knowledge, and experience… This is what led me to the creation of Extra Mile Marketing.
With over 7 years of marketing experience, I found that many companies are not using online marketing tools to their advantage. Extra Mile Marketing was created in order to help other small businesses market their companies to their full potential.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting my own business has had many rewards, but it has also come with some obstacles. One of the obstacles of owning my own business is the lack of ability to forecast my company’s future. At my previous jobs, I had people to supervise me through daily tasks and a paycheck to vouch for all the long hours spent at the office. With owning Extra Mile Marketing, these two things are no longer guaranteed. Now I am the sole owner and employee, which means I am responsible for every duty within the company. Every responsibility that needs to be done to run a successful business falls on my shoulders. This in turn has given me the motivation to create a company that I am proud of and excited to grow each day. Tom Hanks stated, “If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. It’s the hard that makes it great.”

Extra Mile Marketing is a freelance marketing company that was established in Brainerd, MN in 2022. Extra Mile Marketing is a company that seeks to help other small businesses elevate their online presence through social media and website design. Without the tools and knowledge to properly market a company online, a small business will miss out on a substantial customer base. This is where Extra Mile Marketing will come in to help. What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned in creating Extra Mile Marketing is to have confidence in myself and to be grateful to all those who have helped me along the way. I have had so much love and support on my journey of creating EMM from my family, friends, and boyfriend. They have given me the assurance to not only start my own company, but to also continue to grow it each day. I thank you all so much. You mean the world to me!
