Hi Devon, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got my start in the music and entertainment world as a karaoke DJ, where I learned how to read a room, engage a crowd, and keep energy high no matter who was on the mic. That hands on experience naturally led me into bigger events, where I began refining my skills in music selection, timing, and creating memorable moments for guests of all ages.
My work and passion didn’t go unnoticed, and I was eventually discovered by a wedding company, which opened the door to the world of weddings. From there, I fell in love with the unique responsibility of helping couples bring one of the most important days of their lives together through music, flow, and atmosphere.
I spent years continuously building my experience, learning the ins and outs of weddings, from ceremony cues to packed dance floors, until I was ready to take the next step. In 2024, I officially launched my own Wedding and Event business, combining my background, professionalism, and love for weddings into a service focused on creating unforgettable, stress free celebrations for every couple I work with.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, it’s been a smooth and rewarding road. That said, like any small business, especially one run by a single person! There have been challenges along the way. Being the only DJ and employee means wearing every hat, planning, communication, setup, performance, and business management. There are times when schedules get tight and things feel a little hectic or stretched thin. But those moments have pushed me to grow, stay organized, and constantly improve. In the end, the challenges have been worth it, and I wouldn’t trade the hands on, personal approach I get to bring to every wedding for anything.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always curious and hands-on, especially when it came to technology and how things worked. I loved tinkering, figuring out systems, and learning by doing. At the same time, I was raised with a strong sense of kindness and community! I genuinely enjoyed helping others, whether that meant lending a hand to neighbors, being there for friends, or simply making people feel included. That mix of technical curiosity and caring for others shaped who I became and still influences how I approach my work today.
