Emily, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2016, my husband and I bought our first home- a charming 2-story itching to be pulled out of the 1970s. As we tore out aged cabinets, dated light fixtures, and old flooring, I documented our remodeling journey through a blog, Lilies and Life. While the blog was a fun creative outlet, I fell in love with the details of interior design and decorating. Little did I know my blog followers would turn into interior design clients. Since 2019, I’ve enjoyed helping homeowners around Rochester, MN, and beyond bring timeless beauty and function into their own homes.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a business the year of the pandemic wasn’t easy! I was terrified at first but then the remodeling and decorating industry exploded now I realize the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I have learned since starting my business is to trust myself and my abilities. My clients hire me for my skills, creativity, and customer service. I love what I do and relying on what I am good at allows me to support my clients and their families through the beautiful design and organization of their homes.
