Hi Julian, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
When my partner, Jack Slayton, and I set out to redefine entertainment, we had one goal in mind: to create an experience unlike anything Minneapolis had ever seen.
Minneapolis is a vibrant, rapidly growing city filled with people looking for unique, high-energy experiences. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any startup, we faced our share of roadblocks. Building something completely new meant there was no blueprint to follow. We had to develop every detail from scratch, from designing the perfect game show experience to figuring out how to scale it while keeping the energy and excitement intact. Finding the right space, assembling a passionate team, and refining our technology to deliver a seamless, immersive experience all came with hurdles we had to clear.
One of our biggest struggles? Educating people on what The Game Show Studio actually is. It’s not an escape room. It’s not a trivia night. It’s something entirely different—a one-of-a-kind, fully interactive game show experience where participants step into the spotlight and compete like they’re on TV. Getting people to understand and embrace that concept took time, but once they experienced it firsthand, they were hooked.
Through all the ups and downs, one thing kept us going: the belief that Minneapolis deserved something groundbreaking. The challenges made us sharper, more creative, and even more determined to bring this vision to life. And now, seeing people light up when they play—it makes every struggle worth it.

While building The Game Show Studio has been an exciting journey, nothing brings me more joy than my family. My children inspire me every day, and I have no doubt they will grow up to be incredible leaders. Watching them learn, grow, and develop their own passions is the greatest reward of all. At the end of the day, everything I do is for them—to show them that with vision, dedication, and resilience, anything is possible.
