Inspiring Conversations with Kierstin Beaman of Minnesota Integrative Medicine & Acupuncture

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kierstin Beaman.

Kierstin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
At a young age, I knew I was destined to help others and with my mother as an amazing role model, I knew anything was possible. With drive, determination, and persistence, I finally achieved my dream. In February of 2021, Minnesota Integrative Medicine and Acupuncture opened its doors in Coon Rapids. The foundation of my career started by helping a loved one navigate through the struggles of chronic pain. I witnessed the journey she took from doctors to specialists in hopes something would work but more often than not, she was left empty-handed. That’s when I started researching and found the benefits of Eastern Medicine. Seeing first-hand the results and power this medicine had, I changed my focus from western medicine to eastern medicine and became a nationally and locally board-certified Acupuncturist & Oriental Medicine Practitioner.

The opening of my clinic was delayed when my husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 Stomach Cancer. While he fought for his life undergoing chemotherapy, I applied treatments to help him manage his symptoms and aid in his recovery. Although the experience was difficult, this solidified what I am supposed to be doing. It has become my dream and hope for this clinic to be the bridge that connects western and eastern medicine for the benefit of all patients.

I am always looking for ways to improve myself in order to provide the best medical care to my community. Currently, I am completing my Doctorate Program in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with a specialty in Integrative Medicine.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This road has been full of challenges as I am a first-generation small business owner. I gave everything I had, down to the last penny, to make my dream a reality. Being a new clinic in town has its challenges starting with establishing a presence in the community and surrounding areas. Challenging as it has been, MIMA Clinic is off to a successful start and is only going up from here.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Your health is the most precious asset you have. My clinic aims at being a premiere destination for health and healing in the realm of acupuncture and integrative medicine. We offer innovative medical solutions blended with the time-proven wisdom of traditional Oriental Medicine to provide our patients with unparalleled care. I focus on treating chronic and difficult to treat cases such as infertility, debilitating neuropathies, rheumatoid conditions, failed surgeries, and cancer pain and symptom management. On top of acupuncture, I also offer specialty signature services like Ozone Therapy, ATP Resonance Biotherapy, and Electro-stimulation. I am very proud of the services and the education we provide at the clinic. Patients are given information that includes how certain therapies work and why using them can increase potential treatment results.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I am a huge believer in self-care and taking the necessary time out in life to just ‘be’. Having that mental relaxation is key for me to be able maintain the ability to properly care for my patients. Getting lost in a good book while sipping some tea is one of my absolute favorite pastimes. I read so many novels that I can’t just list them but I love all books by Rachel Hollis, Michael Crichton. Kristen Britain, and Brad Thor. Podcasts are a must for me as well. They are a constant flow of inspiration and knowledge. Here are a few of my top favorites: ‘Women of Impact’, ‘Girls Gone Boss’, ‘Rewilding for Women’, ‘Healthcare Happy Hour’, ‘Straight Talk MD’, ‘The 10 Minute Healthcare Marketing’, ‘A Healthy Curiosity’, ‘Lyme Ninja Radio’, and ‘Stanford Medcast’.
