Hi Natali, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I currently own Axis Travel Group, where I’m proud to support 134 incredible travel agents. We specialize in Disney destinations, Universal vacations, cruising, and so much more. I purchased the agency two years ago, but my journey in this industry started long before that.
Prior to ownership, I was a travel agent myself, specializing in Disney and Universal, and built a strong, successful presence on social media. I was fortunate to find success early on and connect with many peers along the way. That experience gave me a deep understanding of both the opportunities and the challenges within this industry. I quickly grew on TikTok and became exposed to many stories that Travel Agents were sharing with me!
The travel industry can be tricky. It often lacks transparency and the level of support agents truly deserve. As I was hearing more and more stories, I knew I wanted to be part of the change. My vision was to own an agency that was known for exceptional support, education, and community, while still delivering excellence to our clients. My philosophy in life has always been people first. I wanted to build an agency to be a place where clients feel genuinely cared for and agents feel supported, valued, and never alone.
During my first year as an owner, I poured my heart into designing our training and onboarding programs while building the right team. Positivity and a genuinely supportive environment have always been non-negotiable for me. In year two, we went through a full rebrand and refresh, new website, new logo, and an updated look that truly reflects who we are and what we stand for. I try to make the agency have a very happy and lighthearted feel, and that is exactly what our new brand and website represent. It is colorful and full of energy!
2025 has been an incredibly successful year for us. We’ve welcomed an amazing group of new agents, expanded our platforms, strengthened our presence, and grown our tiers and partnerships with many of our valued travel partners. I’m so proud of how far we’ve come and even more excited about where we’re headed!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t been rocky, but it definitely hasn’t been easy all the time. Leadership comes with a lot of learning curves, and I’ve learned quickly that putting people first matters more than anything else. I trust my gut, lead with my heart, and I’m really intentional about surrounding myself with kind, hardworking people.
Any challenges I’ve faced, I honestly see as a privilege. Every single one has taught me something and helped me grow, not just as a leader, but as a human too.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Axis Travel Group?
Axis Travel Group is a full-service travel agency, but our bread and butter are theme park destinations, Disney and Universal. The majority of my agents specialize in Disney and Universal, and they bring so much passion, thought, and care to every trip they plan. They’re not just booking vacations, they’re creating experiences. Most of our agents visit Disney and Universal several times a year and stay on-property, giving them real, firsthand knowledge they use to better serve their clients.
What makes us different? The experience and ongoing training our agents have in the destinations they specialize in. Many of my agents are annual passholders, Disney Vacation Club members, or have been traveling to the parks and resorts since they were kids or young adults. These destinations change constantly, and planning them has become incredibly complex. Quite frankly, you cannot be an expert-level agent in theme park destinations without visiting these locations frequently. Firsthand experience is essential if you truly want to specialize in them and give your clients and excellent planning experience!
Because of that, we have a very tailored, detailed, and knowledgeable planning process. Our clients get real-time information, honest recommendations, and guidance that comes directly from our own firsthand, in-person experiences, not something pulled from the internet or read off a call center script. What we provide isn’t easily found online. Our service is personal, thoughtful, and truly customized to each family. We pride ourselves on a high level of repeat clients and referrals, and we are quickly approaching 300 five-star Google reviews because of the care and expertise we provide!
I also require my agents to be well-traveled before they even sign on. They have to walk the walk. We don’t hire every breathing soul that applies, which, unfortunately, is something our industry has slowly been shifting toward. There are a lot of MLM-style agencies in travel, and that can be really harmful for clients. We work hard to rise above that and do things the right way. When you work with one of our agents, you can feel confident knowing they met my travel qualifications in their specialty destinations before joining our team. This ensures they can represent our brand and our clients at the highest level.
Beyond that, every agent completes the education program I built, to ensure they’re prepared to deliver exceptional service on many levels. As the travel industry becomes more MLM-driven, those standards aren’t always consistent. That’s why it’s so important for clients to research the agent they’re considering hiring. We also specialize in cruising and have put a strong focus on strengthening our relationships within that space. We partner with many cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Viking, and Norwegian Cruise Line.
