Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Lange.
Hi Nicole, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m the founder and sole practitioner of Life Healing Life, a specialized holistic healthcare practice in Minneapolis that has become a leader in fertility treatment, pregnancy support, and trauma-informed reproductive care. With over twenty years in the field of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, I’ve developed a practice that transforms the fertility and pregnancy journey for those who have experienced infertility, loss, or trauma.
My path to this work was deeply personal. My own experience with sexual assault became a pivotal moment that shaped my understanding of trauma and its profound effects on the body and spirit. This difficult chapter in my life ultimately informed my practice philosophy—one that recognizes adversity, including infertility and loss, as both painful and potentially transformative.
Through this lens of personal experience, I developed a distinctively evidence-based, trauma-informed approach to fertility and women’s health. Having supported patients through nearly a thousand embryo transfers and countless fertility journeys, I’ve created specialized protocols that integrate traditional Chinese medicine with modern reproductive science.
What began as my personal healing journey evolved into a mission to revolutionize reproductive healthcare. I now provide not only in-person acupuncture and Chinese medicine treatments but also online fertility programs, educational resources, and professional training for other healthcare providers on implementing trauma-informed patient-centered care principles.
The gorgeous 1300 square foot historic art deco space in Minneapolis that houses Life Healing Life is a reflection of the healing environment I’ve created—a place where physical symptoms and emotional wellbeing are equally honored. With the behind-the-scenes support of my husband the fabulous graphic designer & artist Mark Lange. I’ve built a practice and online presence that remains intimate and personal while offering comprehensive, professional care both in person and across the globe!
My journey has taught me that while not everything happens for a reason, we always have choices in how we respond to our hardest struggles. This belief has become the foundation of my work—helping others navigate their reproductive challenges with greater peace, presence, and possibility.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being self-employed has consistently presented its own unique set of challenges throughout my career. As a woman in healthcare running my own practice, I’ve had to navigate waters that many traditional business models simply don’t account for.
My personal journey through pregnancy and maternity leave was particularly eye-opening. Without the infrastructure of paid leave or temporary coverage that exists in larger organizations, I had to make difficult decisions about how to maintain my practice while honoring this profound life transition. I experienced firsthand the gaps in support that I now work to address for my clients—how do you build a thriving career while also creating space for your own reproductive journey? How do you step away to welcome new life without losing the momentum you’ve built? These weren’t just theoretical questions for me but lived realities that shaped my understanding of what women in healthcare truly need.
When COVID hit, it brought another layer of complexity. As an acupuncturist providing hands-on care in a world suddenly defined by distance, I had to completely reimagine how to deliver support to vulnerable clients already navigating the emotional complexities of fertility challenges. The pandemic forced me to pivot quickly, leaning into online programs and resources and focusing more energy there for nearly a year. I’m glad to say, they’ve now become integral parts of my practice and make it even healthier and more resilient.
Throughout any challenge—whether responding to the pandemic, returning from maternity leave, or weathering the inevitable ups and downs of entrepreneurship—what has consistently guided me is my commitment to an abundance mindset. I’ve learned that operating from a place of scarcity never drives healthy choices, either for myself or my practice. When I’ve felt the walls closing in or resources seeming limited, that’s precisely when I’ve needed to step back, recalibrate my expectations, get creative with solutions, and trust in the bigger picture.
This approach has served me well during times when the easier path might have been to compromise on care quality or work myself to exhaustion. Instead, I’ve found that pausing, breathing, and reconnecting with why I do this work in the first place always leads to more sustainable solutions.
I work tirelessly to center healthcare on women’s actual quality of life (including my own!) because I believe deeply that the metrics we currently use to measure “success” in reproductive health are woefully inadequate. A successful embryo transfer that leaves a woman traumatized is not truly successful. A pregnancy achieved through methods that disconnect a woman from her body’s wisdom is only partly a victory.
My driving motivation remains creating resources and approaches so that future generations of women can have fundamentally better experiences in the parts of their reproductive journeys that deserve more support and celebration. This isn’t just about fertility outcomes—it’s about transforming how we approach women’s health altogether, honoring the whole person in the process.
The struggles along my path have ultimately become some of my greatest teachers, showing me exactly where the system needs repair and inspiring creative solutions born from personal experience rather than theoretical understanding. Every challenge has deepened my conviction that a trauma-informed, holistic approach isn’t just a nice addition to reproductive healthcare—it’s absolutely essential.
We’ve been impressed with Life Healing Life Acupuncture for Women’s Health & Fertility , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Life Healing Life is my solo holistic healthcare practice where I, Nicole Lange (LicAc MAOM), bring over twenty years of experience in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture to women navigating fertility and reproductive health challenges. While you might find other acupuncturists offering fertility support, what distinguishes Life Healing Life is the trauma-informed lens through which I approach every aspect of care.
What I Do
At the core, I specialize in fertility enhancement, pregnancy support, and women’s reproductive health using acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. But describing my work only in these terms would be like describing a symphony as “people playing instruments.” The deeper essence of what I do is help women reclaim their reproductive journeys when medical interventions, past experiences, or unexpected challenges have disconnected them from their bodies’ wisdom.
I’ve supported patients through nearly a thousand embryo transfers and countless fertility journeys, creating specialized protocols that integrate Eastern medicine principles with modern reproductive science. This work extends beyond my Minneapolis art deco clinic space through online programs like “The Baby You Want,” “Banish Fertility Burnout,” and “IVF Insider”—each designed to address both the physical and emotional dimensions of fertility.
What Sets Life Healing Life Apart
What truly distinguishes my practice is the trauma-informed approach that permeates everything I do. This isn’t a marketing buzzword—it’s a fundamental shift in how I understand and treat reproductive challenges.
Most fertility treatment focuses almost exclusively on physical interventions and outcomes. My approach recognizes that the body keeps score of our experiences, particularly those involving sexuality, safety, and autonomy. When a woman experiences infertility, undergoes invasive treatments, or navigates pregnancy after loss, these experiences can reverberate with past traumas in ways that conventional medical models rarely address.
I bring an understanding that reproductive challenges often exist at the intersection of physical health and emotional experience, requiring care that honors both equally. This perspective emerged from my own healing journey after sexual assault, teaching me that true health must encompass both body and spirit.
Another distinguishing feature is my integration of evidence-based approaches with traditional wisdom. Rather than seeing Western and Eastern medicine as opposing forces, I help women leverage the best of both worlds—demystifying medical procedures while enhancing their effectiveness through complementary treatments and emotional support.
What I’m Most Proud Of, Brand-Wise
What brings me the most pride is creating a brand and practice that refuses to compromise depth for accessibility. In the wellness space, there’s often a tendency to either oversimplify complex issues or hide behind unnecessarily complicated jargon. Life Healing Life does neither.
I’m proud that my brand communicates profound concepts about trauma, healing, and resilience in ways that feel both accessible and honoring of the complexity of women’s experiences. Whether through my clinic work, online programs, or educational resources like “The Baby You Want TV,” I’ve created spaces where women can engage with challenging topics without feeling either patronized or overwhelmed.
The aesthetic of Life Healing Life, crafted with the artistic direction of Mark Lange, reflects this same balance—creating environments both online and in-person that feel simultaneously substantial and welcoming, professional and personal. Our historic art deco space in Minneapolis embodies this philosophy physically—a place where clinical excellence meets genuine warmth.
What Readers Should Know
What I want readers to understand about Life Healing Life is that this isn’t just another wellness business—it’s a mission to fundamentally transform how we approach women’s reproductive health.
The current landscape of fertility care remains heavily focused on outcomes at the expense of experience. Success is measured in pregnancy rates rather than women’s wellbeing throughout the process. Life Healing Life exists to change this paradigm, demonstrating that addressing the whole person—their physical symptoms, emotional experiences, and past traumas—actually leads to better outcomes by every measure.
My online programs offer something unique in the digital space—trauma-informed fertility support that provides not just information but transformation. “The Baby You Want” program has helped countless women achieve pregnancy when other approaches failed, precisely because it addresses the mind-body connection that conventional treatments often overlook.
For women navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy after loss, or reproductive health issues, Life Healing Life offers not just treatments but a fundamentally different approach—one that honors their complete story and empowers them to write its next chapters with greater agency, presence, and hope.
I believe that reproductive healthcare deserves to be revolutionized, and Life Healing Life is my contribution to that revolution—one woman, one treatment, one transformed journey at a time.

I love the work of Rachel Naomi Remen, Radiolab, Hidden Brain, and so many other books! Nadine Burke Harris’s work on childhood adversity is amazing. I also love books by comedians and am a sucker for books about pitbulls as I count our rescue Sylvie as my official 3rd baby (along with my human kids George & James)- ha!
I read and/or listen to at least 3 books at a time – science, parenting, mental health and a smattering of fiction. I love taking classes. I love learning and I love that we live in a world where there are so many amazing brains and ideas that we have access to.
