Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelby McQueeney.
Hi Shelby, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a full-time realtor mama to two young boys and married to my husband, Kyle! I have been a realtor for almost four years and grew my business in 2021 to selling over $20M and helping 43 clients achieve their home goals! I have the most rewarding careers – being a mom AND helping clients in finding their dream home. I specialize in the west metro with existing homes and new construction. I work a lot with move-up buyers who bought their first home and now need to sell and move into their next home! I have a background in flipping homes with my dad who owns a construction company. I originally got into real estate to remodel homes with him.. we were (and still are) a father-daughter duo having fun & loving what we do! I am on the Kelly Brown Homes Team and we are a group of nine women who absolutely love what we do! It’s so empowering to be surrounded by these women who inspire me daily.
I live in the west metro with my husband, Kyle and two baby boys Beckham (3 years) and Waylon (4 months). I’m a lover of coffee, hot yoga, red wine, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge is being a working mama and finding work-life balance. A mom and realtor are both full-time jobs so they definitely can intertwine as you’re never truly “off duty” for either role. With that said, I am SO grateful to be able to be a mom WHILE working my DREAM JOB! The passion and love for both roles drives me to want to succeed and help others. Coffee helps too. 🙂

We are an award-winning team and I was named for a second time in a row – Best MN Real Estate Professional! I DO NOT take that lightly and thank all of my clients for trusting me in one of their biggest life investments; their home! I work in the West Metro and specialize in new construction homes (although I help with existing homes as well). As a team, we’ve sold over $100M and helped over 200 families in 2021 alone. Bring on 2022!
