I started Sundazed because I fell in love with the confidence a great spray tan can give someone — and because deep down, I wanted to build something of my own that made people feel the way I wished I felt during some of my harder chapters. After training in Minneapolis, I launched Sundazed with a portable machine, a tiny room, and absolutely no idea where any of this would lead, just a vision and the belief that I could turn it into something real. Over time, that small dream grew. I partnered with Lux Luminosity, started with 1 shared room between 2 other providers, and eventually moved from a shared room into a brand-new buildout with multiple treatment rooms, and finally into a dedicated space that felt like “mine.” I have poured myself into every detail — custom airbrush techniques, elevated client care, and even developing my own all-natural, spray-tan-safe product line so clients could maintain their glow with something I wholeheartedly stand behind.
The growth hasn’t happened without growing pains. There has been moments when the responsibility has felt heavy, where I questioned if I was doing enough, or if I was capable of carrying everything on my shoulders. But every challenge became a reason to rise, and every setback taught me something I needed to learn. Building Sundazed has shown me what resilience actually looks like — showing up, choosing yourself, and creating beauty even when things feel messy behind the scenes. Today, Sundazed is so much more than spray tans. It’s a brand built from strength, vulnerability, empowerment, and the belief that you can build something extraordinary even when you start small. And I’m still just getting started.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Growing Sundazed meant learning how to juggle rapid expansion, long hours, staffing hurdles, financial pressure, and the weight of doing almost everything myself. There were moments I felt overwhelmed or unsure, especially when the behind-the-scenes struggles didn’t match the polished business people saw from the outside.
But every challenge shaped me. Navigating tight spaces, new systems, a bigger location, and balancing responsibilities with Lux pushed me to grow into a stronger, more capable businesswoman. The obstacles taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and how to trust myself even when things felt messy. It wasn’t easy — but it made Sundazed what it is today.

Luck has played a surprisingly beautiful role in my journey. I’ve been fortunate to meet the right people, attract supportive clients, and step into opportunities that aligned perfectly with where Sundazed was headed. From my initial training to expanding alongside Lux, so many things have fallen into place at exactly the right time.
Even the moments that felt like “bad luck” ended up being blessings in disguise. Every setback pushed me toward something stronger, more aligned, and ultimately better for the business. Looking back, the mix of good timing and disguised blessings has shaped Sundazed into what it is today.
