We’re looking forward to introducing you to Alexis Bostrom. Check out our conversation below.
Alexis, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
We just celebrated my daughter’s first birthday, which was such a proud and emotional moment for me. My husband and I struggled for nearly 8 years to get pregnant, so to now look back and realize how quickly this first year has flown by feels surreal. I’m especially grateful because I had the easiest pregnancy, smoothest birth, and a wonderful postpartum experience—it all just makes smile to see how far we’ve come.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Alexis, the owner of Big Wolf Siteworks LLC. We specialize in excavation, demolition, and site work services. What sets us apart is the pride we take in delivering quality work from the ground up. Building and growing Big Wolf Siteworks has been such a rewarding journey, and I’m especially excited about our future and the incredible growth we’ve experienced this year. At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to integrity—and a passion for turning dirt into dreams.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful comes from realizing how independent I’ve always been. Even at a young age, I stood firmly in my beliefs and wasn’t afraid to speak up or stay true to myself. That independence—and the confidence to stand my ground—has always been a source of power for me and continues to guide me today.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me perspective in a way success never could. After losing my sister and my dad, I started living by the motto, ‘What’s the worst that can happen?’ Compared to the hardest moments I’ve faced, everything else feels manageable. As long as the people I love are alive and well, then everything is good—and that mindset keeps me grounded and grateful no matter what challenges come my way.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
I rely most on my husband, Nels. He’s the smartest person I know, and he often sees things from a completely different perspective than I do. I really value that, because so many times he’ll say something that gives me an ‘aha’ moment and helps me look at things in a new way.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m laying in bed with my husband, our daughter, and our dog. Those quiet moments together, where everything feels safe and whole, are when I feel the most content.
