Hi Kenny, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
What am I chasing right now? Knowledge and Self Growth. I am at a place in my life where I want to learn as much as possible. Spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. I want to do better then I have ever done, and then when I reach that point my new goal will be to do even better.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’d like to start this off with first sending a huge shot out to Bold Journey for not just showing interest in my story but the many others as well that Bold Journey gives the opportunity to share their stories and successes as well. My Name is Kenny Keys. I like to look at myself as a creator of opportunity. I am currently a Maintenance Director at Brookdale Senior Living. I took this job because I seen the opportunity to do what I love doing best. Creating opportunities. I currently have a staff of three gentlemen, this is their first Maintenance job they have ever worked and I take pride in not just teaching them things about Maintenance but also watching their confidence grow within them selves. I also took this position because it is a great opportunity to learn about operating a commercial building. I maintain everything from huge Chillers that control the a/c in the building, boiler systems, fire suppression systems, sprinkler systems, exhaust systems, a full functioning restaurant style commercial kitchen, and keeping up with repairs in a 18 story Assisted Living residential building. I also in 2022 got certified as a Housing Inspector through Minneapolis Public Housing which all gets me one step closer to my ultimate goal. Bridging the gap between the Maintenance and Housing Inspection industries. This is where I’d like to shed some light on my newest project I’ve been working on. B.T.G. is my newest Idea in the works. Its called “Bridging The Gap” which is exactly what my goal is to do between the Maintenance and Inspections industries. I would like to add if any developers or people interested in contributing to my project in motion or just want more information on the concept of bridging the gap between Maintenance and Housing/City Inspections please contact me. This is a billion dollar idea and with the right investors it could be a game changer in these fields.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
Great question. I honestly believe I have reached a point in my life where everything is coming full circle. The experiences I’ve been through, the lessons that I have learned, and the wisdom that I have picked up through my Journey has made it very clear to me what I am on this earth to do, and that is to be a great server. I believe in the reach one teach one mindset. Lack of opportunity in many causes leads to a waste of talent. If people had more opportunities then we would see more successful people I believe. I started out being a Maintenance Technician just trying to pay my bills. A couple years down this career path I seen the gap between Maintenance and Housing Inspections. I seen how although the job descriptions are different both positions have the same common goal. Making people’s living conditions safe and comfortable while also honoring their rights as tenants. That’s when a light bulb went off in my head like “Kenny, bridge the gap between Maintenance and Housing Inspections”. Now my goal is to do just that. I want to provide a service to property management companies to teach their Maintenance Technicians State and City codes to help keep there properties not just up to code as far as State and City obligations but a safer place for their residents as well. Proper prevention saves lives and my teachings will lead to property management companies passing Housing and City Inspections with flying colors. Again, I would like to add if any developers or people interested in contributing to my plan on bridging the gap between Maintenance and Housing/City Inspections please contact me. This is a billion dollar idea and with the right investors it could be a game changer in these fields.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would have told myself a lot earlier in life that Failure is only fuel needed for my drive to Success. I would have told myself that I loved myself more. It took me many years to learn how powerful self love is.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Most definitely 100% I am me where ever I am. One thing I told myself as far back as childhood is that I always wanted people to like me for who I really am. One thing I thank God for daily is that he allowed me to stay true to myself through all the ups and downs. When you have morals and values it’s important to one’s self how your character is viewed because you want your name to be held with integrity and respect.

To not wait until it’s your time to leave this earth to finally understand that none of the material things matter. Your family matters, your relationships matter, your morals & values matter. When it’s my time to go l want the love I gave to be missed not the favors I gave. I also want people to know this. B.T.G. is something I have been manifesting for some years now and the potential is through the roof. All it takes is for the right people to believe, that is how visions turn into reality.
