Today we’d like to introduce you to André Rodriguez.
Hi André, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I have been a full-time musician and songwriter since 2005. Over the years I’ve built strong relationships within the music industry, both locally and nationally. As a result, event planners and wedding coordinators were referred to me for a wide range of event entertainment needs. For a long time, I viewed this work as more of a hobby or “side hustle.”
But in 2021, a wonderful coordinator team reached out about a luxury event in Jackson Hole, WY, and things became more serious. I knew the caliber of entertainment we provided was special and decided it was finally time to make our services more official. That’s when we first performed as The Silver Alchemist!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Aside from the typical “start-up” challenges that come with any new endeavor, the biggest challenge has been to not panic when business is slow.
There are definite seasons of busier interest in our services, but then also very quiet seasons. So staying patient and cultivating our product rather than underselling our services has been really important.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Silver Alchemist is first and foremost a high-energy, Top 40 Variety band. While we have a core group of performers, we also have a small collective of trusted musicians and singers we incorporate into our shows when there are specific stylistic needs. This approach allows us to deliver excellence and consistency while also being durable enough to customize the unique requests of each event.
One thing that sets The Silver Alchemist apart is that the core band also consists of several performers with national touring experience who have performed with artists such as Owl City, Danny Gokey, Pitbull, For King & Country, Caitlyn Smith, Natalie Grant, and many more. The byproduct of this experience is a more polished sound, confident stage presence, and strong attention to detail.
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned is to build a team around you that you trust and can rely on. I believe a healthy business needs a variety of perspectives and skill sets.
