Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridget Rosdahl.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I graduated from Mankato with an Exercise Science and Dance Degree. Right out of school I was personal training for Lifetime and dancing for the Minnesota Timberwolves. I moved in and out of corporate wellness positions managing Ecolab and then Cargill’s fitness programs, then went back to training and instructing for Lifetime Fitness in Minnetonka, while cheering for the Minnesota Vikings. When covid hit and trainers were out of work, the in-home training option took off for me and I started my own training business!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say smooth, but I have had a nice steady growth since the start. I struggle with saying no, so my schedule had to be what the clientele needed before I had a say in hours that would work best for me. Ever since having a little girl, my time has been much more structured and prioritized.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My mobile training business sets me apart from most trainers due to how many in-home gyms that I pop into throughout each week. These gyms range from lake homes with full fitness rooms to homes with a sport court that has equipment, to larger basement spaces that we pull benches and dumbbells out into for each workout. I’m also training small groups, couples, and individuals at gym spaces in Spring Park, MN. My clients tell me that their biggest takeaway from what I train and focus on is their improved posture. I bring awareness to postural alignment throughout every training session, through the classes that I teach (I also teach at Hola Yoga, Minnetonka) and the online programming that I create. I am proud of my ability to track so many details for so many different clients. The difference between following a program and just getting workouts in, is the volume tracking and progressions to create actual measurable strength gains.
How do you think about happiness?
Movement, sunshine, being on or near the water, dancing, live music, and time with my family and friends doing any of the above. Being able to give someone an experience that leaves them feeling better then when you met them is why I do what I do. Watching clients grow into healthier and happier versions of themselves is what fills my cup.
