Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Love.
Hi Brittney, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am an artist. I like to think that I was both born and created an artist. I was born with a deep love of creating. There are no rules, right or wrong, it’s just you and an endless amount of possibilities. I wasn’t always good at art though. I’ve tried a lot of different mediums and techniques over the years. It makes me kind of laugh to think that I am a hyper-realism, pyrographer (wood burner) of all things. For most of my life I loathed realism. I wanted to be cool and abstract, but I wasn’t ever good at that style.
Naturally, realism was my thing. This is where I created my artistry. I leaned into my dislike to see where it could go. I got competitive with myself to do better than my last and eventually stumbled across pyrography, which I also despised at first. I meshed the two together and discovered my passion. Now, I create as close to life-like images as I possibly can with that same competitive attitude toward myself.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Just like anyone, I have my seasons. Seasons of getting art in all day, every day. Seasons of wondering when I’ll get my chance at it again. Seasons of artist block and seasons of great ideas and success. The thing that has been the hardest for me is hearing that I won’t make it as an artist. That held me back for a lot of years until I changed my perspective, dug my heels in deep, and chased after what I want. I wrote a quote that helps to see me through on those mentally challenging days.
“I am an artist. Come the day I can no longer create art, only then will I be truly starved.”

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I primarily wood burn, but recently I have been trying to challenge myself with painting and expanding my creativity.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Growing up I was a bit of a daredevil. I liked to push the limits on my dirt bike and lived a pretty outdoorsy lifestyle.
