Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryant Lee
Hi Bryant, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Bryant Lee, a Detroit-based creative with a lifelong passion for art across various mediums. As the youngest of three, I was fortunate to grow up in an artistic family where creativity thrived. My father, with his keen eye for photography and film, and my mother, who embraced knitting and crocheting, both nurtured my artistic inclinations. My two older brothers, talented in sketching and painting, fostered a spirited competitive environment that encouraged my growth.
One of my earliest memories is picking up a pencil to emulate my brothers’ impressive skills. This sparked a lifelong journey of creativity that flourished alongside my active childhood, where I balanced recreational sports, such as football and baseball, with my artistic pursuits. At the age of eight, I discovered YouTube and DeviantArt, which became integral to my development as an artist. I immersed myself in countless tutorials across different drawing mediums, leading to my interest in animation and graphic design. Adobe software quickly became my primary tool for personal creative projects.
By the age of 14, I was fortunate to start selling my artwork by creating YouTube banners for various small creators. As my involvement with YouTube deepened, my mother gifted me my first camera, which initiated my journey into photography and videography. After high school, I attended Michigan State University, where I connected with incredible individuals who have supported my artistic journey to this day, including my closest friend and current business partner, to which we founded both Pardon My French Records LLC. & Loveless Blvd (a clothing brand seeking to unite people through shared struggles).
While I didn’t complete my degree, I gained invaluable experience working with several companies that align with my passions. My portfolio includes collaborations with Bankrose Productions, Backwoods & Bonfires Music Festival, Crowdfreak, the Detroit Pistons, MusicXclusives, BET, Hip-Hop DX, and many others.
I owe a heartfelt thanks to my parents and brothers, whose encouragement and support have provided me with opportunities to travel, help others, and turn my passion into a viable career.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Strength and growth only come through continuous effort and struggle; and you can’t appreciate the good in life without the bad. Every journey is marked by its highs and lows, reflecting the natural flow of life. I’ve faced losses that have surprised me in their depth and nature, while also discovering unexpected joys and connections along the way. It’s in these moments that unwavering faith and a focused mindset become essential. We only get one shot at this life, and that means embracing all of it—the good and the bad.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’d consider myself a Jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none type of artist. Right now, I offer photography, videography, and graphic design services, primarily focusing on musicians—creating cover art, music videos, and behind-the-scenes content. Recently, I’ve branched out to work with small businesses, providing promotional video and photo material for both digital and physical advertising. I’m also getting involved in the wedding community, offering video and photo services for couples.
I believe my versatility is a key strength. Being multi-hyphenated allows me to adapt and take on different roles as needed, which I believe sets me apart in this creative space.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Fail early, fail often, but always fail forward. – John C. Maxwell
