Today we’d like to introduce you to Cory Weidler.
Hi Cory, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I bought my first camera towards the end of high school and during college, I started taking pictures for family and friends it wasn’t until after I graduated college, I decided to become a registered business and charge for my work!
I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Community Nutrition and for the first 8 years after graduating college, all I did was photography.
I am now a Nutritionist at First District Health Unit, have a photography studio downtown Minot, ND, and still shoot evenings, weekends, and in my time off. Here we are 10 years later…still doing what I love + a little more.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest struggle has always been balancing home life with work life. With three kiddos, a patient husband, and working two jobs it is a challenge to keep balanced.
I have been blessed to travel and meet so many people. I have taken clients’ senior photos and then some of those senior’s wedding photos and then their family photos over time.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a photographer. I specialize in weddings, families, commercials, and seniors.
I am busiest with weddings and that is where my love lies in the photography world. I am most proud of the relationships I have built with clients, my work, and being able to continue to do what I love successfully, 10 years later.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Our cousins lived across the street from us we had evening kickball games with all the neighborhood kids, camping adventures, family vacations, Minneapolis shopping trips with my 4 sisters, living room picnics, and Holidays.
