Life & Work with Eliana Blumenthal of Minnesota

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eliana Blumenthal.

Hi Eliana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started at Aveda Institute Minneapolis in 2015, and graduated their Esthetics program in 2016. My first job was kind enough to provide continuing education where I learned how to perform dermaplaning, peels, light therapy, and many other modalities. Due to my hours worked and continuing education I was able to procure my Advanced Practice Esthetician license. I then received my Laser Technician license in 2018 after attending a local laser education program, where I then became an assistant educator. In 2021 a close friend reached out to me regarding a managerial position at the new spa she was opening in Mound, and as a solo esthetician I was able to build my clientele and really connect with the community, all while being my own boss and choosing my schedule. Currently I am working at Elements Massage of Minnetonka, and I am now the only Esthetician in the state of Minnesota at an Elements Massage! I am very lucky to have been chosen to introduce skincare services at the Minnetonka location.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s definitely been difficult at times! I did not work during the first year of the pandemic because my job requires me to be in close proximity to others, so I wasn’t comfortable doing services at the time.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At my current job I perform facials on clients which include facial and upper body massage, scalp massage, the art of guasha, educating my clients about their skin and what products to use.

I specialize in facial massage and find it extremely important to focus on during the facial. Everything I do during a session is completely customized to what my client needs.

I would say I’m best known for my warm hands! In the 10 years I’ve been practicing, the thing people comment on most is how warm my hands are and how much they enjoy it.

I am most proud of my ability to connect with others during a session and help them feel comfortable with me. It’s very important to form a connection and trust each other!

People often say that I’m extremely intentional with my touch and energy, which is such a compliment to me!

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Minnetonka and the surrounding cities have some of the kindest and most genuine people in Minnesota. The clients at Elements are some of the nicest people I have ever worked with and I genuinely look forward to meeting new people every day!
