Life & Work with Erin Hewitt of North Loop, Minneapolis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Hewitt

Hi Erin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into aesthetics began unexpectedly in 2011. Unable to secure a hospital job, I found myself working with lasers, and that “accidental” start became the foundation of a career that I’m incredibly passionate about. From there, I moved to Virginia, North Carolina, San Diego, and Los Angeles, where I immersed myself in the world of plastic surgery and aesthetics, continuously honing my skills and training with world-renowned injectors and surgeons.

Eventually, I returned to Minnesota, following my passion and opening Hjem Aesthetics with a vision. My goal has always been to create a place where every patient feels seen and heard, building confidence through personalized care that enhances each individual’s beauty. This journey has been about refining my craft and creating a truly elevated experience where patients feel valued and empowered.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey to where I am today has not always been easy. Along the way, I’ve faced challenges that extend beyond perfecting techniques or achieving results – struggles with the ethical components of the aesthetic field and the insecurities that I think we all encounter throughout life. Navigating these has shaped not only who I am but the vision behind Hjem Aesthetics.

Aesthetics is often perceived as a space focused solely on outward beauty, yet I’ve always seen it as a tool for empowerment, a way to help people feel more aligned with their own sense of self. Finding that balance – helping patients embrace their unique beauty while honoring the integrity of this field – is a guiding principle that defines my approach. I believe that by prioritizing authenticity, individuality, and realness, we can create something truly impactful.

These experiences and realizations have shaped Hjem Aesthetics into more than just a clinic. It’s a space grounded in honesty and inclusivity, where each patient’s experience is thoughtfully designed to ensure they feel valued, seen, and empowered. My hope is to extend that authenticity to every interaction, so each patient feels supported on their journey – not to perfection, but to embracing their true, unique selves.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
In my work as a Nurse Practitioner and Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist, I specialize in aesthetic treatments that help patients feel authentically themselves while enhancing their natural beauty. With 14 years of experience in the field, including nearly 10 years working alongside renowned plastic surgeons, I bring a deep knowledge of lasers and injectables to each treatment, along with a commitment to safety, precision, and care.

What I’m most proud of is creating a space that goes beyond aesthetics. At Hjem Aesthetics, we’re not just focused on achieving a particular look; we’re dedicated to providing an experience that builds confidence and leaves every patient feeling valued and heard. I’ve crafted an environment where each person can feel comfortable, knowing their individuality is at the center of every treatment plan.

I’m known for my emphasis on graceful aging and the natural look – patients often come to me because they want results that complement and celebrate their unique features rather than redefine them. What truly sets me apart, though, is my dedication to education, both for myself and my patients. I’ve trained with world-renowned aesthetic injectors and plastic surgeons, and I continue to learn and evolve in my practice, bringing the most advanced techniques and knowledge to my work.

My journey in aesthetics has been personal and transformative, and I bring that authenticity and dedication to each patient interaction, always striving to offer a VIP experience that empowers, inspires, and respects each individual’s natural beauty.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I find value in a variety of resources – from apps to podcasts, books, and blogs – because they expose me to diverse perspectives and challenge me to think critically. Listening to voices I might not always agree with is a big part of this process. It broadens my understanding, encourages intellectual growth, and ultimately enhances how I approach my work and personal life. Engaging with different viewpoints helps me refine my approach to aesthetics, making sure I’m always grounded in thoughtful, well-rounded perspectives that benefit my patients and myself.
