Today we’d like to introduce you to Godswill Obah.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Godswill Obah and am from Nigeria, growing up wasn’t always fun for me but I have a lot of good memories, I have always wanted to work or be an actor on nickelodeon because its a channel I grew up watching and here in Nigeria we don’t have kids or teen channels like that, seeing and watching what kids like me can do was so cool but judging from where am from I couldn’t be like those kids, so as I grew up, one day I decided to open a fan page account for nickelodeon which got up to like 7k likes/followers, the page was doing fine until I started getting lots of copyright strikes from Facebook and I decided to shut it down.
In 2019, I discovered Brat Tv while I was watching videos on youtube, I started watching some of their series like Chicken Girls and Mani which helped me get through Covid19, I found myself attracted to their series cus most of their series target what most generation z is actually experiencing and going through, due to covid19 procedures every one has to stay at home, so I gave it a thought and said to myself, why no start a podcast talking about Brat tv shows, so I did a bunch of episodes and made a new friend Kelly who was also a Brat tv fan, and we did some episodes together, the podcast name was just called Brat Radio on all podcast streaming platforms, so one day I was doing an episode with Kelly talking about Chicken Girls latest episode and she mentioned Brat Universe and in my head, I loved the name and the idea, so I decided to change the fan page account name to Brat Universe, ending of 2021 I started a Youtube channel with the name Brat Universe, and I have interviewed some of Brat Tv Actors like, Giovanni Christoff, Trey Makai, Jasmin Tatyana Brown e.t.c and its awesome to talk to them, and i love doing it, am happy for what i have done so far.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth, nope it hasn’t been smooth, if you are doing something and it goes smooth nothing comes out of it, I send emails to actors every week and a lot of them don’t even write back, the road has been really tough but I refuse to quit.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Ok, I am a freelancer in Programming and Web Development, am also a content creator, currently, I work in a studio where I shoot videos, it’s a music studio.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
For me, I would say consistency, yes consistency, no matter what people think or do am not going to quit, am not going to give up, am gonna keep pushing no matter what.
