Today we’d like to introduce you to Grayce Meyer.
Hi Grayce, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always been really into fashion and beauty. I had always followed influencers on Instagram, and had several of my close friends and family tell me they thought I would be really good at it. It had always been something that really interested me, but also made me really nervous. Putting yourself out there at the beginning with a very little following is pretty scary. My sister had done it a few years before me, and was a big factor in giving me that push I needed.
I started sharing items on my personal Instagram and turned it into a business Instagram. I started with about 900 followers, and now have almost 13k. I still feel like I have a ways to go, but have come a long way from the beginning.
Now it is years later, and I am SO HAPPY I took the plunge. I get to learn, talk about and share beauty products, fashion and lifestyle pieces every single day and LOVE IT. If there is one thing I learned from my experience, if a dream scares you, GO FOR IT ANYWAY. You will never know the outcome unless you give it a try.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not. Many don’t understand it, and I definitely received some pretty rude DM’s at the beginning from people, for lack of better words, making fun of me. Again, having my sister who had already gone through starting up her own brand really helped me with this. She explained that rude comments come with the territory, and that they would always be there. I was blessed enough to have a husband, family and friends who supported me and were my biggest cheerleaders. The positive comments and messages far outweigh the negative.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I focus on beauty, fashion and lifestyle. However, I focus mainly on affordable and realistic pieces. I am just going to keep it real, I live in Central Minnesota. It isn’t very often that I am going to an event where I need an extravagant gown with stilettos. However, I do like to look nice when I am running to Target, or having Thanksgiving in my Mom’s kitchen! I really try to share items for the everyday woman. I will include a splurge every now and then (I love a good handbag!) but for the most part, I share very affordable pieces.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Besides blogging, I also am a dental hygienist and the head dance coach for the Holdingford High School Varsity Dance Team. It is a newer program at Holdingford, and we received our first ever state trip this year in the jazz category.
