Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Buszmann.
Hi Justin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For the past few years, my wife Kayla and I have been tossing around the idea of buying a dump trailer. Between our families, we always have house projects and always would had to borrow different trailers. I researched the different types, sizes, and styles for a few months. The whole time I was thinking of different ways that this trailer could make a profit when we were not using it.
One day, I stumbled across a YouTube video talking about junk removal. Of course, I got sucked into the YouTube rabbit hole and could not stop watching junk removal videos. From that point on, I knew that was what I wanted to use the trailer for when we did not need it. This was around September of 2022. I gave myself a goal of having everything ready to go by the new year so that when that time came, I could hit the ground running. I have a background in construction and have always loved a good DIY project. So, it only made sense to add demolition to the company as well.
In the first week of January 2023, my wife and I started Clean Slate Junk Removal & Demolition. Our goal is to have a junk removal company that is different than the big box companies in the area. We want to provide our customers with better one on one customer service and an all-around great experience that they are 100% satisfied with. We want to be the local Family-owned company that is the go-to for junk removal or demolition in the south metro area.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
So far it has been a fairly smooth road.
I am always up for a good challenge, and starting a junk removal company has its challenges. Junk removal is not as simple as picking up trash and bringing it to the dump.
Many items need to be disposed of in a certain way. Some items can be recycled or donated. Some things can be hazardous to the environment if not disposed of correctly.
This all needs to be planned out before loading them into the trailer so that they do not get mixed up when unloading.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a junk removal and demolition company that serves the south metro area of the Twin Cities.
At Clean Slate Junk Removal & Demolition, we remove any unwanted items that customers no longer need or want. We remove anything from appliances, furniture, and yard waste, to construction debris, complete decks, and sheds. We specialize in a full house, garage, and storage unit cleanouts.
I am most proud of the great positive feedback that we have received from our customers. We take pride in helping the customer in any way we can and making sure that they receive the best service possible.
We set ourselves apart from the other companies by taking the time to listen to the customer. We want them to understand that they are not just another job to us. We truly do care about their needs and want that to show in our service.
We are also upfront with our prices and have no hidden fees. We have heard many horror stories about how the larger companies send out one price and then tack on hidden fees after the job is complete.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The quality that I believe is most important, is my ability to listen and talk to the customer. Most people do not want to hear a sales pitch from a company trying to sell something.
We listen to exactly what the customer wants and expects. Then we complete the job in a timely, clean, and professional manner.
