Life & Work with Kajsiab Jade Yang of Minneapolis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kajsiab Jade Yang

Hi Kajsiab Jade, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was always playing with nail polish as a little girl- experimenting with colored French tips, stickers, marble art, and many more diy nail trends at the time. Throughout my life I was always experimenting with my nails but my journey to becoming a nail artist didn’t come until the 2021 pandemic. During this time I was freshly graduated from high school and enrolling in post secondary education. I was struggling to figure out what it is that I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So, as a daughter to first generation immigrant parents I went to community college to fulfill their dreams, but as an inspiring artist I went to nail school to fulfill dreams of my own. After 1 month of nail school I graduated and spent the next 2 years being a full time nail technician and student. It wasn’t until recently in 2024 that I started creating editorial nail sets and combining my skills as a creative director to produce photoshoots.

Becoming a creative director was a role I saw myself falling into as I continued to experiment with my creative expression. I’ve tried many things in the creative world- modeling, acting, photography, videography, assisting, etc. But I’ve never felt any of those roles fit me. I’ve found joy in creating projects where I can bring people together to create something astounding. Nowadays, my creative work includes my involvement as a creative director and nail artist as they’ve both helped me become the artist that I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve had to overcome many challenges that life brings me. I’ve had to let go in the uncertainty of the unknown and become vulnerable to opportunities that have pushed me out of my comfort zone. While I’ve always been a confident person, deep down I’ve had many fear of the future that had prohibited me from doing anything at times. As the saying goes, “we are our own worst critics” I would put pressure on myself to worker harder to be the best that I can for myself. But the reality was that as a nail artist I was constantly working to pay for my products and as a creative director I was overwhelming myself with projects that were not within my capacity. Before I knew it I was burning myself out in every aspect of

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a creative director and nail artist that specializes in editorial & fashion press on nails. In addition to my creative work, I am a full time salon based nail technician offering natural and artificial nail services. My work as a creative director is inspired by the duality of women and emphasizes the importance of natural beauty. As a nail artist my goal is to create beautifully sculpted and intricate nails based on concepts, themes, and ideas to add that extra touch of glam
