Life & Work with Kim Juen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Juen.

Hi Kim, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My business started 14 years ago as a personal training business called Healthified U!. It was born out of a passion for helping others get healthy. As my own journey progressed through health issues that were not explainable or curable (not just taking meds to cover up the issue), I began exploring my own natural healing. On this journey, my business changed also. It became more of a health coaching business and I started helping people transition to healthier eating, specifically targeted at healing. From there, it progressed to toxin-free living coaching for things such as skin care, hair care, using safe make-up and essential oils. In addition on my journey, a HUGE part of my healing was dealing with things such as stress, anxiety, getting better sleep and connecting to my inner self and spirit. Out of this healing, Awaken Gratitude was born.

In my own healing sessions with Reiki practitioners and Shamans, I was told I was a healer and needed to share my gift with the world. I did some soul searching and landed on Reiki. I received y Master Reiki Practitioner certificate from Siste Seekers in Rochester, MN. I have been providing Reiki services out of a beautiful space in my home for almost 3 years. I use tools in my sessions such as essential oils, healing crystals, singing bowls, palo santo wood, sage and other healing items. I provide Reiki, in-person and distance, Chakra Balancing and Toxin-Free Living Consults.

This is a part-time business for me as I also work at Mayo Clinic as a workforce analyst helping to make the experience of the employees better. I also participate in healing/wellness events. I am an online content writer for Rochester Women’s Magazine – focussing on Reiki, Chakra Balance and Toxin-Free Living.

I recently launched a new product called the Chakra Essential Oil Collection. This was designed and formulated by me. It is a set of 7 essential oil roller bottles targeted at each chakra to help balance and uplift the chakras. They are made with doTERRA Certified Pure Therapeutic grade essential oils and organic Fractionated Coconut Oil.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been a healing and self-reflecting road! Definitely, there have been challenges. In the beginning, my personal training business died down due to the economy and people losing their jobs. My own health issues presented challenges. I also was raising two kids, working part-time outside of the home and trying to revitalize my business.

It has been difficult trying to dedicate time and money to the business while working full-time ad of course there was COVID! In addition, Reiki and spiritual healing is not mainstream- although it is getting there. Getting the message out in a way that resonates with the general public is key.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Master Reiki Practioner with Awaken Gratitude. I provide Reiki, Chakra Balancing and Toxin Free Living Consults. I specialize in helping others tap into their own energy and find ways to heal and live naturally while achieving a higher state of being. I also just launched the Chakra Collection I am super proud of! https://kajuen2.wixsite.com/awaken/chakra-essential-oil-collection

What sets me apart is the way I incorporate many healing tools and take time with my clients to help them understand the messages and needs discovered during their sessions.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I recently got connected with Rochester Women Magazine and that has been SUPER helpful in connecting with others and getting my name and business out o others.
