Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucas Krause.
Hi Lucas, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Suburban Tire Storage began in 2017 with a discussion in a garage between two friends looking at a stack of seasonal tires taking up room.
The idea of seasonal tire storage in northern climates is not a new one, but what was missing is a high level of service with a direct human connection.
Initially making ourselves the customer we were able to work through how we wanted the service to function. Through combined previous professional experience the necessities were built from the ground up, including website, brand kit, and communications with a focus to provide the customer a friction free, no touch seasonal tire change experience.
Growth year over year has been consistently positive using word-of-mouth recommendations and foregoing traditional marketing pushes. Suburban Tire Storage is offered alongside existing line item tire storage offerings at many metro area tire chains and service shops because we are reliable, honest and reachable.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
From inception to the present day, building the business has been a smooth experience. By leveraging existing skill sets from previous career paths, investing profits back into the business to strengthen technical and physical infrastructure, and pursuing no financing has allowed the business to grow at a stable, steady and manageable pace without having to sacrifice focus on the customer experience or quality of process. .
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I act as the customer touch point and take great pride in providing a surprising level of interest and care for the mundane and banal process of seasonal tire exchange.
My primary interest is to help customers establish automaticity and reduce complexity in something that appears to be simple, but if done poorly results in additional complications and wasted time.
What matters most to you? Why?
Reducing friction in a process that most consider an afterthought and some find annoying. The import lies in helping customers get back to what they want to be doing rather than the maintenance of things that compete for a finite amount of resources.
