Today we’d like to introduce you to Mykyta Kravchenko
Hi Mykyta, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey has been long. It started when I left Ukraine at 18, all by myself. Because of the war, men weren’t allowed to leave, so it took me eight days to cross the border. I tried five times and was denied each time. On the sixth try, I got lucky—they finally let me through.
I was heading to the U.S. through the “Work and Travel” program. After five days in Poland, I went to the Czech Republic for my visa interview. I was nervous but hopeful. When my turn came, I walked up to the officer. In just two minutes, I got news I never expected—I was denied the visa.
After all the effort to leave Ukraine, it felt like everything was falling apart. I didn’t know what to do and almost gave up. But instead of going back to Ukraine, which was dangerous, I stayed in Poland to work and figure out another way.
I worked in a factory for six to seven months, doing 60- to 80-hour weeks. It was exhausting. Eventually, I moved to Warsaw to try something new.
I kept looking for a way to get to the U.S. and finally found an opportunity. I packed my bags, booked my flight, had another interview with a border officer, and this time, I made it. Moving to the U.S. was always my goal, and I was determined to make it happen.
Once I arrived, I started reading about money, investing, and real estate. Everything I read pointed to real estate as a great opportunity, so I learned as much as I could. I listened to podcasts, studied, and eventually got my real estate license. Now, I’m focused on building my real estate business.
I know I’ll be a successful Realtor because I work hard and never give up. My journey proves it. And now, I want to help you find your dream home—because turning big goals into reality is what I do.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh no, of course not! As a real estate agent, you usually only get paid when a home closes, which can take months. I didn’t have my first transaction until I was five months into the business, so I had to do side jobs to support myself while pursuing my passion.
Right now, I’m getting more and more clients, but I still have a full-time job while also doing real estate full-time. Hopefully, if everything goes as planned, I’ll be able to transition fully into real estate soon and do it all the time!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I help first-time homebuyers and past homeowners find their dream home without stress. I make the process as easy as possible.
I love what I do so much that it doesn’t even feel like a job.
What makes me different is my hard work, dedication, and ability to listen to my clients’ needs. Plus, I’m easy to talk to and always up for a good laugh!
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Yes! Always keep an open mind and surround yourself with the right people. Someone successful once told me, *”If you look at the people around you and don’t feel inspired, you don’t have a circle—you have a cage.”*
That’s so true! The people you spend time with have a big impact on you. That’s why I’m careful about who I surround myself with. I also believe in meeting as many people as possible because **your network is your net worth!**
