Life & Work with Rosie Wilkie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosie Wilkie.

Hi Rosie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I had purchased my first home in 2010 as a ‘single women’ and was looking for a new career path. During the process of purchasing my first home I realized how much I needed and appreciated my agent’s praise, confidence and guidance. In looking for a new career path I found a passion in wanting to help other ‘non-traditional’ homeowners find their way to homeownership. I started sharing how I was becoming a confident home and business owner which has grown a pretty wonderful life as a realtor. I love helping single men and women but have also found so much love and appreciation helping the move up buyer, being there for someone in a chapter of life they never imagined and making sure all of the details are taken care of when people are downsizing and selling the home they raised their kids in.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I started in the business when I was single which is hard when you are paying bills, mortgage, etc on your own. During the first 3-4 years in the business, I held other jobs to make sure bills were being paid which led to a slower start in the business. With that said, I do think the slow start made for a really strong authentic business now with clients being 95% friends, family and referrals.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My most favorite part of the business for me is the people/relationships. Getting to take part in one of those most important chapters of peoples/families’ lives gives me a purpose and honestly an adrenaline high. I am reminded daily that this career and where I am at is where God wants me to be.

I really enjoy and specialize in marketing, staging and the little details in real estate. When listing a property I love being hands on in helping make sure my clients are taken care of and making sure they are showing their homes full potential.

My most proud day in real estate was when my client’s daughter on closing day said, ‘I can’t wait to move in with Rosie..’ I will never forget that day.. It was a great reminder how important the time is that I spend with my clients and how important homes and families are.

What sets me apart. Yes, being a real estate is my job and I need to make a living but real estate and helping my nearest/dearest is who I am. I love what I do and hope that my clients can feel that.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
In the last few years, I have embraced a new motto of less talking the talk and more walking the walk.. I am a big dreamer/goal setter and have started to feel like life is too short to just have these dreams.

In the last year, I purchased a moving van that was a big investment that I will let my clients use complimentary during their move. I have always wanted to do this and thought it was the perfect way to give back to the people that have helped grow my business.

And another thing that I have been wanting to do is purchase an investment property which I did in December of 2021. I am very early on in the process of becoming a property manager but it is going really well and I am looking forward to sharing the process with my people.
