Life & Work with Scott Krueger of White Bear Lake

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Krueger.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My pathway into production started my freshman year of college in a television news workshop. At that time, I was majoring in public relations. I felt like I was doing well and all, but it didn’t truly excite me. Over the course of that semester, I began to learn more about the art of visual storytelling.

About halfway through the semester, I knew I wanted to change my major to Media Production. I shifted course and was determined to hone my craft. I worked internships, assisted professors on corporate shoots, solo produced a documentary, and even spent a semester studying production in Australia. As I was approaching the end of my college career, I realized that I like variety. It keeps me on my toes and challenges me in a good way. So I decided to launch my own video production business, TreeTop Media LLC, in June of 2020. Since then, I have been partnering with businesses and individuals, helping them produce creative multimedia content.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve definitely experienced my fair share of growing pains. To this day, I am still learning and improving where I can. One of the challenges I think many creatives face is the business side of things. Another challenge is trying to growing my business and get my name out there as the sole employee. I hire trusted colleagues if the project calls for it, but I operate 90% of the time as a one-man-band.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in brand storytelling. I am most proud when a client tells me that I successfully captured their vision. That is always my goal: to bring a client’s vision/story to life with the technology and tools I have at my disposal. When I work with a new client, I try to take a more personal approach in getting to know them & their business. I work hard to create content that is authentic, engaging, and meets my clients’ objectives.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is spending countless summer days swimming and playing outside with friends.
