Today we’d like to introduce you to Tieng Vang.
Hi Tieng, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well, living in Paris, France for over a decade, I grew up eating French food and mostly French bread every day. When my son finished college, he was not sure what to do so I proposed to him to go learn the trade and become a Baker. He then started working at some French bakeries and the went back to Paris to get his Culinary certification. When he came back, we decided to just open a family business and that is how it all started. We have been in business now for a couple of years, business started right around the time COVID hit. We have been lucky and well supported by the public and neighborhood. We wanted to be a real French-based product for this community and neighborhood.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey was very tough. It took many long years and sometimes you just wonder if you should just quit. Just like anything in life, there were lots of roadblocks but we just kept on going and pushing it harder each and every day. Waking up very early mornings, long hours, COVID definitely, and more……
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well, my daily work is with the electronic circuit board soldering field. I am a certified instructor for electronic soldering for a PCB manufacturing company. I do that during the day and work at the bakery at night making bread and many other things. My son Brandon is a professional baker at the bakery along with his brother Tommy and mom making pastries. I am very proud of both kids and what they endure to get tot this point, it took a lot of hard work and dedications. I guess my work ethic, determination, never give up, always moving up in life, and hopefully achieving my dream and goals one day.
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Well, I learn that to have a business within the professionals you really need more than just luck. To have a chance to succeed, you really need to have gone through all the necessary professional trainings along with years of hard work. It does not mean you will succeed but you at least put the chances on your side and hope for the best.
