Life & Work with Tracy Phillippi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy Phillippi.

Hi Tracy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Coming from a typical suburban childhood, I was truly not prepared for the twists and turns life had in store for me. I was in a bad accident when I was 18 that ended my schooling and future career in cosmetology and left me with a traumatic brain injury. Pregnant very unexpectedly with my 1st blessing, my son Bryce. After having him, I had a variety of jobs and met my now ex-husband in 2000. Proceeded to have 3 more blessings and finally ended the marriage in 2011. From that point, I knew I had 4 driving forces to be successful and want much more to life. In 2018 however, I ended a 2-year abusive relationship that required a domestic abuse no-contact order. I have always been one to take pain and turn it into power. In 2018, I was crowned Ms. Woman Minnesota which truly set the ball in motion for me to truly become who I knew I could be. In 2019 I was crowned Ms US World Elite, what an incredible moment in my life! From that moment I knew I wanted to do more in life so I began working on myself and my career to push to the next level. Real estate has been such an amazing blessing in my life. Partnering with a great brokerage like Elite Realty Mn has helped me so much. I have had 2 radio shows( Cool Chick Radio from 2011-2018 and Queen and The Cop from 2018-2021) and am working on launching a new show very soon!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I had to homeschool my youngest daughter when she was in 4th grade because of her medical issues. Divorced in 2011. Escaped an abusive relationship in 2018 and also found out that both of my daughters were hiding secrets and that they both had experienced abuse and sexual assault. My oldest son was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma Nov 2019 we almost lost him because of a missed diagnosis by another doctor in March of that year. I am incredibly grateful to his care team, who saved his life.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently a realtor who works with anyone in the state of MN who dreams of owning a home. The path isn’t always perfect but we figure it out together and I never quit. I am also working on launching my nonprofit called Diamonds Project to help heal survivors of Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault after the court case is done. I experienced the feelings after the court was done and I want to make sure other survivors have a support system while they figure out a new life post-abuse.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Get out of your own way. Too many times people are scared to try new things or be open to finding creative solutions to things. I strongly believe that everything is figureoutable.
