Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoey Brooks.
Zoey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When I was around 1 year old I danced a lot so my mom signed me up for mommy and me dance class. I only wanted to dance by myself so my dad signed me up at a dance studio he grew up dancing at. I joined the competitive program when I was four and have been dancing competitively ever since.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been pretty smooth. I love to dance and I get to do a lot of different styles. It requires a lot of practice and time away from my school friends but I have some really amazing friends at dance.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a competitive dancer at a dance studio and I do commercials and acting as well. My first time auditioning I got an international commercial for Hotwheels which was great. I am different from others because I try to have fun in every thing I do even if it’s hard and it is a competition.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My mom and dad support me a lot, my mom makes my solo dance costumes and my dad helps with auditions for film. My dance studio owner and teacher pushes me to work hard and stand out and my friends always cheer for me.
