Margaux Stinar shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Margaux, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My family
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Margaux, the heart behind Margaux Alice Photography — a lifestyle photographer based in beautiful Minnesota, though originally from France.
My story began 13 years ago when I came to Minnesota as an exchange student and, at the very end of that year, met the love of my life — my now husband. Fast forward to today: we’ve built a life together filled with love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos thanks to our three amazing kids, a husky, and a cat.
Photography has been my greatest passion for as long as I can remember. I specialize in lifestyle photography — capturing candid, heartfelt, and authentic moments that tell your unique story. My work is true to color, filled with emotion, and focused on the beauty of real life — the in-between moments, the laughter, the tiny details that often go unnoticed.
For me, it’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about preserving memories — the kind you’ll look back on years from now and feel all over again.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
Honestly, my husband has taught me the most about work. He’s one of the hardest-working people I know. An electrician and carpenter who gives 100% to everything he does. Watching his dedication, patience, and quiet determination has inspired me in my own business. He reminds me that success isn’t about rushing; it’s about showing up every day, staying humble, and pouring love into what you do.
And of course, motherhood has taught me a lot too. How to balance, prioritize, and find beauty in the chaos. It’s shaped not only how I work, but why I work the way I do.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to keep dreaming big because everything truly is possible. Life has a way of surprising you in the most beautiful ways when you follow your heart. Don’t ever let fear or doubt hold you back. The dreams that feel too big right now might just become your reality one day.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, absolutely. The public version of me is very much the real me. What you see is what you get. I’m naturally bubbly, positive, and full of energy. I genuinely love connecting with people, listening to their stories, and making them feel seen and comfortable. I’m the kind of person who will always try to help, never judge, and bring good vibes wherever I go. I truly believe kindness and warmth can make a difference, both in life and through my photography.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I was a truly good person. Someone who loved deeply, cared genuinely, and always tried to make others feel valued. That I brought light, laughter, and warmth wherever I went. I hope they remember me as someone who was kind even when no one was watching, who listened without judgment, and who always tried to help others. More than anything, I’d want people to say that I made life a little softer and a little brighter for those around me.
