Meet Anna Golv of Ground Force Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Golv.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a child, I was always very active. I danced, did gymnastics, played softball and volleyball, tried hockey for a few years, and ran cross country. Because of this, when it came time to decide “what I wanted to be when I grew up,” I knew I wanted a job where I could continue to be active. At 16, I started exploring becoming a Personal Trainer – talking with other trainers I knew and researching what colleges offered Exercise Science programs. That’s also when the dream of having my own Personal Training gym one day began – and jokingly said, I would call it “Annaerobics.”
After graduating from Gustavus with a degree in Exercise Science and double minor in dance and coaching, I started Personal Training. After some time as a trainer, I moved into Corporate Fitness and then eventually Fitness Center Management. In 2024, my husband – Chris – and I moved Higher Ground Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to a larger space and started planning the start of Ground Force Fitness.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a long road (20+ years in the making) – but overall fairly smooth. I’ve learned a lot throughout my career and look forward to continuing to inspire and empower individuals to reach their fullest potential, making a positive impact on their health and well-being.

Ground Force is where tenacity, determination, and a growth mindset are valued. Our fitness facility is a place where everyone is welcome, and we are dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve their health and wellness goals.
