Meet Aundrea Westin of Timber Pins Bowling Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aundrea Westin.

Hi Aundrea, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I worked at Timber Pins when the original owners had it in the early 2000’s. Roxe and I had a standing joke that she’d sell it to me when she was done with it. The alley felt like it was home back then. In 2007 I moved away and had watched it switch hands a few times. I wanted it, but the timing was always off. I moved back to the Falls in 2022 and joined Wednesday Night Mixed league. The feeling of home was still there, just a little different. It felt like it needed life brought back in. I wanted so much more for the place. After a few short quiet conversations, a handshake, and a quick trip to the bank, I was finally able to buy it! I feel like Roxe would be proud. Timber Pins is just home to me and I fell in love with it all over again.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth road? Absolutely not. I always say we could have our own TV show, “The Adventures of the Alley”. There will always be lane issues with the 12 big beasts that line the back of the alley, that is inevitable. But the place was in need of some fixing up in many other areas.
I have learned to expect the unexpected. I never know what the days project will be. From replacing faucets and toilets, pipes bursting, Freezers dying, water lines freezing, to walking in to find the slushy machine malfunctioned and continued to run GALLONS of slushy mix out of the machine and on to the bar floor. The adventures are endless, but generally always end in laughter because they really are that crazy. In the beginning my maintenance man Ryan, or my MVP, said “On to the next thing!” and it has stuck! After every new adventure you will hear one of us say it, and we do, we just roll with it and move on to the next thing.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Timber Pins provides the local community and visitors a place for family fun, casual nights out or special events.
We offer 12 lanes of Cosmic Bowling every Friday and Saturday night in addition to Open Bowling daily, BCEC leagues and the Falls High School Bowling Team.
If bowling isn’t up your alley, our arcade offers 20+ games with a coin machine available.
Our bar section houses dart boards & pool tables if you are looking for a nice place to shoot. Or you can take a seat at our bar made of real Brunswick synthetic bowling lanes and enjoy some drinks or food. We have a delicious menu that includes our signature BYOB – Build Your Own Burger Bar and our delicious smoked wings slathered in your choice of sauce.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Go with the flow. Things will always work out. It may not be the exact way you expected, but what is meant to be will be.
As Ryan says, “On to the next thing.”
