Hi Caleb , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My DJ journey started out simple — just a love for music and a desire to share that with people. I was always the one curating playlists for friends, and eventually, that led to working as a part-time DJ for a company in Minnesota. At first, it was just for fun, but I quickly realized how much I enjoyed creating a vibe and seeing people have a great time because of the music.
From there, I started investing in better gear, learning more about the technical side, and booking my own events through my LLC — especially weddings, which I’ve really come to love. There’s something special about being part of such an important day and helping set the tone for the entire night.
Now, I run a full DJ business where I handle everything from custom playlists to coordinating with planners to make sure everything runs smoothly. It’s been a lot of learning, a lot of growth, and a ton of fun! I’m excited to keep building from here.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — but I think that’s part of the journey. In the beginning, it was tough just figuring things out. I didn’t have a roadmap or mentor, so it was a lot of trial and error — learning how to price myself, how to deal with clients, how to handle unexpected issues at events, all of it.
There were gigs early on where my equipment didn’t work the way it should’ve, or where I realized I needed better systems in place to stay organized. Balancing this with my full-time job and other responsibilities wasn’t always easy either. And like any creative field, there are always slow seasons where you start questioning if it’s working.
But honestly, those challenges helped shape how I run things now. I’ve learned how to stay calm under pressure, be over-prepared, and really focus on the experience I’m giving people. Every setback taught me something, and I’ve built a business that’s stronger because of it.

I work closely with each client to understand their style, their crowd, and their vision, then build the soundtrack around that.

I handle everything from custom playlists and detailed timeline coordination to live mixing and announcements.
