Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Wolf.
Hi Cameron , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
During the COVID time, I started buying used Jordan Sneakers. I would fix them up, clean them, etc, and resell them for a profit. Alot of the techniques I needed to use I learned from watching videos online, Through that i stumbled upon alot of people doing custom work on sneakers and i thought it looked cool so I started small, just working on some shoes for my kids which their school colors and such, and then their friends started asking for some, and then it just kinda took off. I started posting them on my Instagram and Facebook pages, and was getting great feedback along with alot of interest from all over the country. Fast forward three years later, and I have been fortunate enough to work with Celebrities, sports franchises, corporations and schools, and I absolutely love it when I see people wearing and enjoying my work!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part it has been pretty smooth! I know my limitations as far as what I can create, and make sure not to over-promise. I make sure my clients are aware of how to properly take care of the shoes when they get them, but to also understand that even though this is a paint made specifically for leather and is more flexible that other paints, you can still get areas of cracks and such, but they are always welcome to send them back to me and i will touch them up for free!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In the “Real World”, I work in sales in for Acoustical Solutions for Business, so definitely not related to the custom sneaker world in any way! The sneaker biz is a fun little hobby, and from what i have seen out there, I have found that there are alot of people who do it, but it seems like alot of them are not doing it the right way, whether that be how them communicate with clients, how long it takes them, how much they charge, and if they stand by their work. My reputation is very important to me, so i do everything in my power to ensure my clients are happy from the moment they reach out until the moment they receive their shoes and beyond!
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I just love seeing the reaction people get when the receive the shoes. Its so much fun to see unboxing videos, or the pictures they share on-line showing them off. It gives me a great sense of pride and happiness knowing I brought that joy to someone!
