Meet Channy Kerdsook of PHO Bemidji

Today we’d like to introduce you to Channy Kerdsook.

Hi Channy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Since we are in a cold state, we want to serve hot and comfort food to people. And that’s why we decided to open Vietnamese restaurant that offers authentic bowl of pho, Banh Mi, house egg rolls and many more. Our owners and chefs have been in the food industry for over a decade, so we are highly excited to open our restaurant in Bemidji.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We opened in March and the weather was still a little cold. However, when summer rolls in, our traffic in the restaurant was declined. People might think that we only have pho but we also have Banh Mi sandwich, rice bowl, noodles salad and many other dishes. Thus, we have been promoting our food.

We’ve been impressed with PHO Bemidji, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
PHO Bemidji got voted “Best Restaurant” and “Best Sandwich” in Bemidji, MN from Best of The Best 2025 from Bemidji Pioneer. We proud to present our fresh and high quality food along with customer service that we ensure everyone who stops over has an amazing experience. Last but not least, we love to be a part of our community to help each other grow together.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
It’s so important to build a relationship with your customers and your business neighbors. We have many customers that are now our friends and get to know their stories and background. These relationships cultivate into many business opportunities and ways that we can give back to our community.
