Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Baker.
Hi Chloe, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I personally have always loved to bake growing up my dad was always in the kitchen making cookies, birthday cupcakes, and rhubarb cake in the summer time so I guess you could say baking came naturally and only ironically did Baker become my last name when I married my husband in 2021. Fast forward to 2023 while on maternity leave with our 2nd born I decided to try making cupcakes and cakepops for my nieces birthday party. They turned out delicious but not the prettiest treats anybody had ever seen, after a bit more practice I thought I would like to start offering treats to my small town on Facebook and with that bloomed The Bakery- A Boutique Sweet Shoppe. I feel very grateful for the support I get from my family and community, making cakepops is truly a passion of mine and I love to share with others.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting my cakepop business was definitely a lot of trial and error, as it is an art and took a while to figure out. Along with navigating having now 3 kids and working full-time, with my small business I have tried hard to look at it as a hobby to not get stressed about and to bring me joy. My husband has also been a great help through it all.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
After I graduated high school I went to school for phlebotomy, I worked in the lab for almost 6 years before starting to work from home, still remaining within the healthcare system. I am incredibly outgoing and love patient care.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
my favorite childhood memory would be licking the cookie dough off of the beaters when my dad would make chocolate chip cookies.
