Today we’d like to introduce you to Denielle Greenwaldt
Hi Denielle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have been caring for my own and other people’s animals since the age of 13, I am now 34. As of August 2022 I decided to pursue pet care as a full-time job. This would give me flexibility with my schedule allowing me to be available for my kids whether it’s a doctor appointment, a game they are in or simply transporting them to and from school. Two years later I am a registered small business, Bark & Bunk LLC. I provide in home, my home, canine daycare and boarding. It has changed our whole world and I couldn’t be more excited and proud.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to get here wasn’t smooth. I first had to understand that something like this may not become full-time, financially we struggled at first with one full-time income and my part time income until about 6 months into this journey. Trying to navigate animal city laws, finding clients, and being able to prepare our home was defiantly a challenge.
I think the biggest struggle was finding the right clients, where the canine got along with not only me but also my family our pets and other clients that would be coming through. When you are first starting you want to say yes to everyone and along the way you find what questions need to be asked, what requirements does the canine need to meet to have everyone have a fantastic day.
We’ve been impressed with Bark & Bunk LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bark & Bunk LLC is a in home canine boarding and daycare. My doors open up to clients as early as 5:30 am and close as late as 7:30 pm. Bark & Bunk is a place for canine family member(s) to get the care, exercise and love that they already receive while their pet parents are working, have appointments, vacations, etc. I am known for being a home away from home for canine family member(s). My canine friends hate to leave and are always excited to return.
